ZIK Analytics alternative: compare the data, price and trial before you switch

The free ZIK Analytics alternative is eBay’s own Product Research, also called Terapeak. It shows up to three years of eBay sales at no cost. Paid tools add bulk scans, supplier matches or, in Productivo, research, listing and repricing in one app. This guide sets ZIK’s data and prices beside eBay’s, then tests any tool on five items you know.

Short on time? ZIK’s plans and the data side by side each have their own part.

The steps use eBay’s own tools and the trial of the tool you test. The data part also sets ZIK beside Productivo, the app behind this guide, and the last part says where each fits.

Before you start

In shortYou need Seller Hub access, five items you know, and one trial week.

Who it is for

LevelIntermediate

For sellers who know Seller Hub and its Research tab. The examples use ebay.com. ZIK’s pages cover eight more eBay sites.
  • WholesaleEasy

Every step works as written. Steps 2 and 3 matter most before you order stock.

  • ResellingMedium

Used one-off items rarely match exactly. In steps 3 and 4, compare by model and condition.

  • HandmadeHard

Research tools find mass-made items. Use steps 2 and 5 to price your work, and skip supplier matches.

  • Wholesale dropshippingMedium

Step 4 needs care: a supplier match must be your wholesale supplier’s item.

You finish with
A keep-or-cancel answer for any research tool, based on your own items and your own costs.
You need
  • An eBay seller account with Seller Hub, so you can open Product Research
  • Five items you have sold or know well
  • The trial of the tool you test, and a reminder for day 6
  • About two hours across the week

What ZIK Analytics does and costs

In shortZIK is a research tool for eBay and Shopify sellers, from $39.90 a month, with a $1 trial.

ZIK Analytics calls itself a product research tool for dropshippers and sellers who hold stock. It covers eBay and Shopify. Its eBay plans list these tools:

  • Product ResearchSearch an item to see sell-through, listings, items sold and sales earnings. Its help guide lists periods of 7, 14, 21 or 30 days.
  • Competitor ResearchType any seller’s name to see their sell-through, revenue, sold items and top products.
  • Category Research and Market InsightsSales and trends by category, with filters such as seller country and VeRO risk.
  • Scanners, on PRO+ onlyBulk Scanner checks up to 100 titles or a whole eBay store. Turbo Scanner scans Amazon and Walmart, and Autopilot also AliExpress, for items that sell on eBay.
  • Title BuilderKeyword ideas for eBay titles, with an 80-character counter.
  • Supplier matchesIts supplier tools pair eBay items with Amazon, Walmart, AliExpress, Alibaba and CJ Dropshipping listings. They show profit and ROI, the return on what you spend.
  • Listing integrationsAutoDS, SuperDS and Hustle Got Real, which are separate tools.

ZIK’s trial costs $1 for 7 days, and the scanners come with PRO+ only. Its pricing FAQ says the trial has every feature of the plan you choose, for new customers. The FAQ also says ZIK does not support separate accounts, so assistants share your login.

ZIK’s eBay tools page covers 9 eBay sites: the US, UK, Australia, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Singapore. A separate Shopify plan, also $39.90 a month, tracks Shopify stores and Facebook and Instagram ads.

ZIK Analytics vs eBay’s free Product Research: the data

In shorteBay’s tool has longer history and real Best Offer prices. ZIK adds seller lookups, bulk scans and supplier matches.

Every ZIK Analytics alternative starts from the same eBay sales. Both tools answer the same first question: did this item sell on eBay, and for how much? They differ in how far back they look and what they add.

The research data, side by side

eBay’s column comes from its Product Research help page. ZIK’s comes from its pricing, eBay tools and help pages.

eBay’s Product Research is eBay’s own sales record. It shows the price an item really sold for, even after a Best Offer. Without Seller Hub, the Sold items filter in eBay search shows about the last 90 days. ZIK adds its own figures on top: sales per seller, scans across many items, and profit against a supplier’s price.

Productivo, the app behind this guide, takes another path: research, listing and repricing in one eBay US app, with Amazon as its only supplier. Here it is beside ZIK, point by point:

Compare a tool’s numbers with eBay’s for the same dates, never on trust. Step 3 shows how.

What sellers look for in a ZIK Analytics alternative

In shortMost switch for a lower cost, data they can check, listing in the same app, or a better fit with their sourcing.

  • A lower monthly costResearch alone costs $39.90 a month on ZIK’s PRO plan, and the scanners need PRO+ at $59.90. eBay’s Product Research costs nothing. Ask which questions the free tool cannot answer for you.
  • Data they can checkA sold count means little without its dates. A good tool names the period, the eBay site and how it counts Best Offers.
  • Research and listing in one toolZIK finds the item, and a separate tool lists it. Some sellers want one app from search to live listing, with one bill. Productivo is one: an approved match publishes from the same app.
  • A fit with their sourcingSupplier matches help only if eBay allows that supplier. A reseller or wholesale buyer needs sold prices more than shop matches.
  • Logins for helpersZIK says assistants share the owner’s login. A seller with a team may want separate access.
  • Other marketsSelling on Shopify too? Check that the tool covers it. ZIK has a Shopify plan.

Write down your own reason before you start a trial. It decides which step below matters most to you.

How to test any research tool on your own items

Run this test on ZIK, on any ZIK Analytics alternative, or on eBay’s free tools alone. It takes seven steps across one trial week.

  1. Step 1 of 7: Pick five items you know well

In shortTest a tool on items you already understand, so you can tell when it is wrong.

A tool is only as good as its answers on items you know. So test it on those first, not on new ideas. Pick five:

    • Two steady sellersItems that sell every month. Their numbers should look familiar.
    • One slow itemAn item that sells a few times a quarter. Does the tool still find its sales?
    • One Best Offer saleDoes the tool show the price you accepted, or the asking price?
    • One item with sizes or colorsDoes the tool count each size, or the whole listing?

For each item, write the exact words, model number, condition and pack size. Use the same words in every tool. eBay’s Product Research only counts titles with all of your words, so one extra word changes the result.

Result: Five items, each with its exact search words, condition and pack size.

  2. Step 2 of 7: Write down eBay’s free numbers

In shortSearch each item in Seller Hub’s Product Research for 30 and 90 days, and write the figures down.

Open Seller Hub › Research › Product research. Type the item’s words. Choose the eBay site you sell on and the condition. Then set the dates to Last 30 days.

Write down four figures for each item:

    • Total soldHow many sold in your dates.
    • Avg sold priceWhat buyers paid. eBay counts an accepted Best Offer at its real price.
    • Total sellersHow many sellers made those sales.
    • Sell-througheBay shows it for dates of 90 days or less.

Repeat with Last 90 days. These numbers are your answer key for every tool. The Terapeak guide explains each figure, and the eBay product research guide shows the full method.

No Seller Hub yet? Use the Sold items filter in eBay search. It covers about 90 days, and you count the sales yourself. The eBay sold listings guide shows how.

Result: Total sold, average sold price, sellers and sell-through for each item, over 30 and 90 days.

  3. Step 3 of 7: Run the same items with the same dates

In shortSearch the same words, site and dates in the tool, then put its counts beside eBay’s.

Start the trial of ZIK or the ZIK Analytics alternative you test. Search each item with the same words, eBay site and condition. Then pick the same dates. In ZIK’s Product Research, that is the Sale date range of 30 days.

Put the tool’s figures next to eBay’s. Small gaps are normal. A big gap needs a reason before you trust anything else the tool shows.

A test sheet for five items

Made-up figures from one trial week. The same words, eBay site and 30 days in both tools.
    ItemeBayToolWhat it means
Steady seller 142 sold40 soldClose. The tool counts the same dates.
Steady seller 218 sold61 soldFar too high. Ask if it is the listing’s all-time total.
Slow item3 sold0 soldMissed. Check slow items in eBay’s tool.
Best Offer sale$21.40 average$24.99The asking price, not what buyers paid.
Sizes or colors26 sold9 soldOne size only. Ask how it counts each size.

Steady seller 2 shows the trap to watch for: 61 sold against 18 sold. Some counts are a listing’s sales since it started, not sales in your dates. A listing that sold well years ago can look busy today. Ask every tool which of the two it shows. ZIK’s help guide shows both for each listing: its 30-day sales and its total sold.

Sell-through differs too. eBay gives no formula, and other tools use their own. Compare eBay’s rate only with eBay’s. To work out a rate from your own counts, use the free eBay sell-through rate calculator.

Result: For each item, the tool’s count next to eBay’s for the same 30 days, with any big gap explained.

Next: Check every match by hand
  4. Step 4 of 7: Check every match by hand

In shortOpen ten matches the tool found and check model, pack size and condition yourself.

Tools pair items by title and photo. They make mistakes, and a wrong match makes every price and profit figure wrong.

Open ten of the tool’s matches, for competitors or for suppliers. Check each one against your item:

    • Model and sizeThe same model number, size and version.
    • Pack sizeA 2-pack is not one item.
    • ConditionNew, used and refurbished sell at different prices.
    • SupplierFor a supplier match, check it against eBay’s sourcing rule before anything else.

Count the wrong ones. If any of the ten is wrong, check every match by hand before you act on it.

To see a competitor’s other items and sold items, open them in the free eBay seller lookup. eBay’s Advanced Search does the same with Sold items and Specific sellers.

Result: Ten matches checked by hand, and how many were wrong.

  5. Step 5 of 7: Work out the money left with your own costs

In shortWork the tool’s profit out again with eBay’s fee on the total, your ad rate, the label and packaging.

A profit figure is only as good as the costs it takes off. In most categories, eBay charges 13.6% plus $0.40 per order over $10. The 13.6% counts on the total the buyer pays, sales tax included. Then come your ad rate, the label and the packaging.

    One made-up sale, two ways

The made-up Practice KS-2 kitchen scale. The full view adds 8% sales tax, which eBay’s 13.6% also counts on.
    LineShort viewEvery cost
    Sold price, free shipping$24.99$24.99
    Item cost from the supplier−$9.50−$9.50
    eBay’s fee and $0.40 per-order fee−$3.80−$4.07
    Promoted Listings, 5%$0−$1.35
    Shipping label$0−$5.20
    Packaging$0−$0.40
    Money left$11.69$4.47

The short view leaves $11.69. With every cost, $4.47 is left. Judge an item by its money left with every cost.

The eBay fee calculator does this sum for your own numbers and category.

Result: The money left for each item with your own fees, ad rate and shipping, next to the tool’s figure.

  6. Step 6 of 7: Follow one item to a live listing

In shortTake one item from the tool’s result to a live listing, and count the tools and bills it took.

Research ends where listing starts. Some tools stop at the result. Others list the item for you.

ZIK’s eBay tools page says its matches reach your store through eBay listing tools. Its plans name AutoDS, SuperDS and Hustle Got Real. Those are separate tools with their own plans. On eBay itself, you list from the Listings tab in Seller Hub.

Take one item all the way, and note:

    • Tools and billsHow many apps it took, and what each costs a month.
    • Title and item specificsWho wrote them, and from which facts. Check every claim against the real item.
    • Business policiesDid the listing get your shipping, return and payment policies?
    • Brand checkCan you sell this brand? Under eBay’s intellectual property policy, you are responsible for every item being authentic.
    • Photos and textWere they copied from a supplier’s site? The same policy bans text and photos used without the owner’s permission.
    • Your approvalCould you see each change before it reached eBay?

Add up the monthly bills for the whole path, not the research tool alone. Then check the listing with the eBay listing optimization checklist.

Result: One live listing, and the tools, steps and monthly cost it took.

  7. Step 7 of 7: Decide before the trial ends

In shortOn day 6, keep the tool only if it beat the free tools and your money left pays for it.

Whether you test ZIK or a ZIK Analytics alternative, set a reminder for day 6 of the trial. ZIK’s $1 trial lasts 7 days. Its FAQ says you can cancel any time before it ends to avoid further charges. Other tools have their own trial rules, so read them on day 1.

    Then answer three questions:

    1. Did it answer something eBay’s free tools could not? For example, one seller’s top items, or a scan of a whole store.
    2. Were its counts and matches right for your five items?
    3. Does your money left pay for it?

For the third, divide the monthly price by your money left per sale. At the example’s $4.47, PRO needs 9 sales a month just to pay for itself.

Sales a month to pay for each plan

At the made-up $4.47 left per sale from step 5. Prices are ZIK’s, paid monthly.
PlanA monthSales to pay for it
    PRO$39.909
    PRO+$59.9014
    Enterprisefrom $89.9021

If any answer is no, cancel before the trial ends.

Result: Keep or cancel, with the reason written down, before the trial turns into a paid plan.

When eBay’s free research is enough

In shortFree tools answer one item at a time. A paid tool earns its price when you check many items or sellers.

eBay’s own tools are the first ZIK Analytics alternative to try. Product Research gives you up to three years of real sold prices, on every eBay site. Sellers with a Basic Store or above also get Sourcing insights: whether items that sold one at a time are in or out of stock, and categories with high demand and few listings.

Common questions about ZIK Analytics alternatives

What are the best ZIK Analytics alternatives?

eBay’s free Product Research first, then a paid tool for the one job you need. Productivo puts Amazon price-gap research, listing and repricing in one eBay US app, with Product Scanner from Pro at $34.99 a month. Algopix checks one product across Amazon, eBay and Walmart, and the free 3Dsellers extension shows one listing’s recent sales. The best eBay product research tools guide compares them on the same points.

Is there a free ZIK Analytics alternative?

Yes: eBay’s own Product Research, also called Terapeak. It is free for sellers with Seller Hub and covers up to three years of eBay sales. It shows real sold prices, Best Offers included. It has no supplier matches or title tools.

How much does ZIK Analytics cost?

$39.90 a month for PRO and $59.90 for PRO+. The scanners come with PRO+ only. Paid monthly, the first month is half price. Billed yearly, its pricing page shows $14 and $20 a month. Its FAQ says Enterprise tools start at $89.90 a month. New customers can try a plan for 7 days for $1.

Is ZIK Analytics worth it?

Only if it answers questions the free tools cannot, for items you will list. Run the seven steps on five of your items during the $1 trial. Keep it if its counts match eBay’s and your money left covers the plan.

Does ZIK Analytics list items on eBay?

Through other listing tools, by its site. ZIK’s pages say its matches reach your store through eBay listing tools. Its plans name AutoDS, SuperDS and Hustle Got Real, which have their own plans. Count both bills, as in step 6. Productivo researches and lists in the same app.

Is ZIK Analytics good for Amazon?

Its pricing page lists eBay and Shopify as sales channels, not Amazon. Amazon appears as a supplier: ZIK pairs eBay items with Amazon listings and scans Amazon for items that sell on eBay. Buying from Amazon after an eBay sale breaks eBay’s sourcing rule.

What is the difference between ZIK Analytics and Terapeak?

Terapeak is eBay’s own sales data. ZIK adds its own tools and data around it. eBay’s Product Research shows up to three years of sales, with real Best Offer prices, for free. ZIK adds seller research by name, supplier matches, scanners and a Title Builder, from $39.90 a month.

Can my assistant use ZIK Analytics?

Only through your login, by ZIK’s FAQ. It says it does not support separate accounts. eBay’s Product Research works with eBay’s Team access, so a helper never needs your eBay password.

How Productivo compares as a ZIK Analytics alternative

In shortProductivo puts research, listing and repricing in one eBay US app. ZIK covers more sites, suppliers and Shopify.

Everything above works with eBay’s own tools and any trial. This part is about Productivo, the app behind this guide, which the data part sets beside ZIK point by point.

Where ZIK Analytics fits a seller better

  • Other eBay sitesYou sell on eBay UK, Germany, Australia or another site. Productivo’s Product Scanner reads eBay US.
  • Shopify tooYou also run a Shopify store. Productivo has no Shopify tools.
  • Suppliers beyond AmazonZIK pairs items with five sources. Productivo adds Amazon matches only.
  • Research onlyYou already list with AutoDS, SuperDS or Hustle Got Real, and want unlimited research with no listing limit.
  • Titles for your own stockZIK’s Title Builder suggests keywords for any search. Productivo’s AI rewrites need a matched Amazon product.

Where Productivo fits, and what it does not do

As a ZIK Analytics alternative, Productivo suits a seller on eBay US who wants research, listing, repricing and orders in one app, with a login per helper. Competitor research comes with Basic, and Product Scanner and the Listing Optimizer with Pro. Its matches are Amazon listings, so eBay’s sourcing rule applies to them too.

It does not research Shopify or eBay sites outside the US in Product Scanner. Its sold count is a listing’s all-time total, so check the dates in eBay’s Product Research. Items you add by hand or by CSV get no supplier match or AI rewrite.

Sold counts, a match and the costs together

Each result shows the eBay listing, how many sold and the match. The cost breakdown takes off eBay’s fees, your ad rate and sales tax at your own settings.
